The 24th February 2022 (24.02.22) swept through the lives of most Ukrainians like a bloody storm, breaking apart our usual way of life and leaving pain and emptiness in its wake. This date divided our consciousness into a cozy and orderly "before", and a harsh, painful "after".
There is probably not a single person left in our country who has not lost something important and necessary. For some people, it was glass in the windows, for others the opportunity to live in their own home, for some a favorite job, for others relatives, health, and even life.
February 22 put everything in its place, those for whom the war, which has been going on in Ukraine since 2014, was something distant and ghostly, finally realized that it is impossible to stay away. The insidious and unjustified aggression of the Russian Federation, covered with fig leaves of false propaganda narratives, has opened the closed eyes. For everyone, including those who were neutral or even positive towards Russia, it finally became crystal clear - who is our brother, and who, despite the lies about sharing a common history and a "one people narrative", is a torturer, murderer, looter, and rapist.
This common tragedy brought us together, and the Ukrainian people have once again showed the world their strength, unity, and most importantly – their incredible ability to self-organize at every level, and the ability to give a friendly hand of support to those who need it.
The world also did not stand aside, and it is difficult to even find the words to convey all our gratitude to the fraternal peoples of Poland, Great Britain, the Baltic States, the European Union, the United States, and Canada, and in general to everyone who joined the powerful flow of assistance. Thanks to which our armed forces withstood the most difficult times and continue to do the possible and impossible for months upon months. Only together can we break the back of the savage monster, which in its thirst for blood is a threat to the entire civilized world. Ukrainians, like no one else, understand this, and everyone for whom the word "Motherland" is not an empty sound, contributes to the cause of our future victory over Russia, because for us "victory" means the existence of Ukraine as a state and Ukrainians as a nation. Every drop is important because these drops form an ocean that will eventually wash away this damn disease from the body of our beautiful planet.
